EN590 (10PPM) ULSD
EN 590 is the current standard for all automotive diesel fuel sold in the European Union member states and other European countries, which is also commonly referred to as ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD). This standard specifies the requirements for the physical and chemical properties of diesel fuel, including its density, viscosity, flash point, freezing point, and sulphur content. Specifically, EN 590 requires diesel fuel to have a maximum sulphur content of 10 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg), which is significantly lower than the previous limit of 350 mg/kg. This reduced sulphur content is designed to reduce emissions and improve air quality by minimizing the formation of particulate matter and other pollutants in vehicle emissions.
