Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is a type of natural gas that has been cooled to a temperature of around -162°C, which causes the gas to condense into a liquid state. This process reduces the volume of the gas by a factor of approximately 600, making it easier to transport and store. LNG is widely used as a cleaner-burning alternative to traditional fossil fuels in power generation, industrial processes, and transportation, particularly in countries with limited pipeline infrastructure. The liquefaction process involves several stages, including extraction of natural gas from the ground, treatment to remove impurities, cooling, and storage.
